March Thrifty Haul!
I love finding thrifty deals! Thrift stores, garage sales, clearance racks, that’s my jam! Here are my best finds from this past month!
KC is really into the “Cars” movies & characters, and has a small collection of little cars from the movie. I found a couple at Goodwill to join his collection. Fillmore looks so groovy!
Also at Goodwill, I found this nice yellow swan. Doesn’t everybody need a yellow swan? No? Well, anyway I thought it was cute for a spring decoration on the dining room table : )
I found a couple dresses for myself, and a shawl that goes with both of them! The only thing I have noticed about purchasing clothing at Goodwill is the pieces tend to have a STRONG febreeze odor to them. What I do is let the clothes hand outside overnight before even washing them!! But, both of these dresses are comfy which is a huge plus for me these days!
KC had outgrown his lighter jacket from last fall, and I found this light jacket which is a bit big, but should be great for next year too. It’s so nice when you can find this sort of thing in great condition at a fraction of the cost that you would pay full price!
Did you know you can shop goodwill.com for items? This was new to me so I decided to check it out. If you decide to shop, beware that shipping costs might likely make the price not so worth it. However, my favorite frugal find of the month came from this site! Even with shipping I paid about half of what it would have cost to purchase this item new. So, what was my favorite find this month? A piano pedal extender!!!!!!!
What is a pedal extender, you ask? Well, it is a little platform kids can rest their feet on while playing piano, and there is are even pedals attached which line up to the piano’s actual pedals so that little kids can use the pedals while they play! Having just started KC’s piano lessons recently, I realized we should get one of these. I had it in the back of my mind to order one, and so I was tickled that I thought to check goodwill.com before purchasing a new one! Here’s the pedal extender in action!
A couple more frugal finds: some used books about music, and some music books I purchased at a significant discount from another teacher.
